When books didn’t help, I turned to SEO “gurus.” I followed their advice to the ends of the earth. I practiced what they preached.
All of the sudden, I started getting a shitload of traffic to my website! Everything was working perfectly! I was actually making real money online with my website!
Until Google updated their algorithm.
And it turned out I was being taught really shitty SEO techniques (blackhat) and I lost all my traffic in a single day.
That was the first and last time I would be burned by an online guru spinning bad advice. I knew I had to take matters into my own hands. I had to experiment.
It took another 2-3 years of testing every single SEO tactic under the sun before I stumbled on the right framework. And I was able to repeat my SEO traffic success again and again.
